International affairs, conferences, digital and mobile journalism
Stewart Thorpe, an NCTJ-qualified journalist, spent two years writing breaking news and features for the Nottingham Post after graduating from Nottingham Trent University with a first-class honours degree in magazine journalism.
From interviewing Boris Johnson to covering major police incidents and appearing on the paper's daily news slot on television, he worked across the entertainment, business and news desks and later became the education correspondent. In April, 2017, Stewart joined Rail Media's editorial team, working across its three publications: Global Rail News, RailStaff and Rail Engineer, and was then promoted to the role of News Editor.
When he's not busy covering breaking developments in the global rail industry, he can be spotted tweeting from the front row of industry conferences, pointing cameras in people's faces and writing in hieroglyphics (sort of).
Most recently Stewart has written about the future of plant technology, what it takes to join BTP's dog unit and Eurostar's inaugural trip to Amsterdam.
